IEEE R9 Awards for members of the Argentina Section
Ricardo Armentano, Juan Codagnone, Pia Torres

We congratulate Ricardo Luis Armentano, Juan Alberto Codagnone and Lucía Pía Torres, members of the Argentine Section of the IEEE, for receiving Awards granted by IEEE Region 9 Latin America at the recent Regional Meeting held in Puebla, Mexico, from 06 to 09 March 2019, as detailed below.

* Ricardo Luis Armentano received the Eminent Engineer Award of IEEE Latin America Region "for findings in the field of quantitative hemodynamics and mechanobiology of the cardiovascular system, from fundamental fundamentals to applications in clinical practice."
This award is a recognition for those members belonging to any of the Sections of the Latin American Region, that have contributed significantly to the promotion and aggrandizement of the professional disciplines that are part of the IEEE.

* Juan Alberto Codagnone received the Outstanding Volunteer Award "Oscar C. Fernandez" of IEEE Latin America Region.
This annual award was instituted as a means of recognizing and encouraging IEEE volunteers in the Region and as a means of recognizing those who have contributed outstandingly in their Section of the IEEE Latin America.
His first recipient, in 1995, was Oscar C. Fernández, an Argentinean member with a long and distinguished career in the IEEE, and from that moment the award bears his name.

* Lucia Pia Torres received the IEEE R9 Discretionary Award "for outstanding contributions and commitment to promote and support activities in R9 of the Industrial Application Society and the Women in Engineering and Young Professionals Affinity Groups."
This award was established to allow the Regional Director to recognize individual contributions to the Region, Sections and IEEE based on the achievements and contributions of the volunteers.
